On Tuesday 17th October, Patrick Craig- director of the Aurora Nova choir and Vicar Choral at St Paul’s Cathedral visited TR to host a workshop with the Chamber choir.
‘Mr. Craig visited our school to give us some tips on the songs we are to sing at the Coram convert in a few weeks. It was interesting to be taught by a new teacher- his warmups were different. He made us use our hands and arms to vary our voice up and down a scale.
He suggested ways to improve our song “Sing Gently” by Eric Whitaker in a few ways. He said we should link the words and look at the phrasing in more detail, singing out of the back of our heads rather than just out of our mouths. The main idea was to think about the sound coming from all around us. It was really beneficial to hear a different point of view.’ -Acacia, Primus
